Organic church: Growing faith where life happens.

I never really understood why people would want to eat pineapple upside down cake. Stuff that's supposed to be on the top is on the bottom? Huh? Sounds like someone was trying to make a regular pineapple cake and dumped in the floor and gave it a new name. Well, that's how you'll feel if you dare to read Frank Viola and George Barna's book, Pagan Christianity? Exploring the Roots of our Church Practices. All that you've held sacred about church practices will be dumped upside down and you might just want to leave it in the floor.

Another way to look at it is if you've ever picked up a Lemony Snickett book or watched the movie, A Series of Unfortunate Events, you'll understand what I mean when I say, "If you like a book that won't mess with the way you think about church...then don't read this book. If you like things the way they are and would rather not examine our church practices or if your life's motto is, "Ignorance is bliss," then this is not the book for you." There's probably another book at the Christian bookstore you'd like better. Pagan Christianity? is not for the faint-hearted.
